I’m back — finally

Zac Stout's Card

I have finally, and I do mean FINALLY, got around to updating this blog. I do believe that “updating” is a very brief way of putting it though. As the few of you who have been checking in from time to time may have noticed, this blog has gone through many revisions of skins in order to make it play nice with all different types of browsers.  What initially started as a design refresh ended in a mess of re-skinning and more re-skinning.  Also, since I last posted (yes, last August was my last post) I have been through many different job trials and tribulations, post Spain, which have kept me fairly busy. Additionally, I recently completed a much needed design refresh on my portfolio site.

All unnecessary excuses aside, I would like to say that this blog will remain a very integral moving part within my digital brand. You will start seeing regular updates again regarding my personal projects and inspirations as well as a juicy mix of varying content.

Stay tuned.

New Updates + Halftone Show Art Prints

I know that you all must be thinking that I have been wiped off of the face of this earth because I have not posted on here in a few months but, in fact, I have been working very hard on many different projects.  I have now simplified zacstout.com and made the overall look cleaner and I have also added two new portfolio pieces.  One of those portfolio pieces, which I am very proud to introduce, is something that myself and a fellow designer and friend have been working on for the past several months now.

This new project basically is going to be a very large and comprehensive art print/design/web shop in which we design and produce various art prints and posters.  It is called Halftone Show and the website, which houses all of our work and news updates, can be found at HALFTONESHOW.COM.  It should be a fun little side project and it will be great to do on the side of everything else we both do in the future.  It has been really gratifying for both of us because it allows us to reach back to our fine art dwellings and produce great design and art without having to worry about anything or anyone else.

So there you have it, a pretty big update and also the introduction of a new project that I will continue to keep you all updated regularly on.  Also, stay tuned for a set of quick updates about graduation and other happenings with my design career and where it is headed.  I wanted to also link up my buddy’s personal site which can be found at mattplappert.com .  He is the buddy of mine who is taking on the Halftone Show project with me.

Stay tuned!

New Work Up!

Just want to let you all know that, as promised the other day, I have posted my two most recent completed projects up on my folio.

Check out zacstout.com to view the new stuff and please give me feedback/criticism if you have any to give.

Thanks for the patience!

Birthday Updates

Last weekend was my birthday and it got me motivated to finally put some of my new work up on the site.  Just wanted to let you all know that updates will be coming by this weeks end.  I have a couple new projects that I am prepping for web and I will get both of them up.  As I have mentioned in my last post, lots of other projects are in the works for this spring.

Side Note: This last month I have been getting all of my personal handout material (resume, business card, self-promo) refined and finished and it has got me excited and anxious about the future.  I must add that I am having a grand ol’ time pushing myself and getting ready for the real world.  This last semester of undergrad should be a dandy!

Stay tuned,
Zac

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to wish everyone a late happy new year!  Lots of stuff in the works for 2009.  I will be updating my folio with some new work as well as a few tweaks here and there.

Stay tuned,
Zac

Brand Changes+Updates

I know it has been a while since I have last updated my folio or this blog but I have been working non stop on my internship, job and school. Needless to say, I have been very busy!

With that said, I am in the process of tweaking my logo and various branding elements. I have received a ton of very useful feedback from various people and it made me rethink a few things about my brand management and brand perception. I am still in school so I realize that there is still time for me to change certain things about the Zac Stout brand. You will notice upon visiting both this blog and my folio that my logo has changed slightly. The backwards “s” is now a “z” and also I have removed the half circle/ rainbow shape above my logo. It is always interesting and exciting to see what other people think about your personal work and it has been a really big help for me in refining my brand. Thank you to everyone who has given me great constructive feedback.

Expect more updates and new work in the coming weeks. I have some work that I have not had the time to format and upload on my folio so stay tuned!

Thanks,
Zac

Site Update!

My site has now been updated with the new navigation/ sort work option as well as back to the top buttons on each work.  I have also added a few aesthetic changes to the backgrounds of certain areas.

Hope everyone likes the changes and please let me know if anything is screwy or not working.  I also highly encourage, and will appreciate, any comments or constructive criticism on either the site or my work.

Thanks,
Zac

Brief Update

I just wanted to give you a brief little update on what is going on with my folio.  I’m keeping busy as usual with everything but I do plan on updating many parts of my website by the end of this week.  The update coming will include better navigation and also sorting of my work as well as a back to the top button on each piece.

Until I get some new content up, you definitely should check out my cousin’s impressive body of work as a public unsanctioned artist living in Germany.  Brad Downey is his name and his website and blog can be found at www.braddowney.com .  I will make a post about him and what he does in the not so distant future.  Stay Tuned.

Thanks,
Zac
